\n\nJob Description\n

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, offering intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional license and with minimal supervision. This role involves evaluating patient needs and recommending treatment plans, as well as explaining procedures and necessary education to patients upon discharge.

\n\nResponsibilities\n

\n
• Conduct and monitor physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation to patients.
\n
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning through multiple methods (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal).
\n
• Conduct monitoring procedures including oximetry, capnography, and pulmonary function studies according to policy.
\n
• Assist with respiratory care procedures such as Bronchoscopy, Chest Tube placement, and tracheostomy care, including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes.
\n
• Perform arterial puncture and determine efficiency of ventilation, along with monitoring and reporting test results.
\n
• Engage in cardiopulmonary resuscitation following BLS and ACLS guidelines.
\n
• Record treatments, patient responses, and maintain accurate records of respiratory therapy.
\n
• Communicate effectively with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding therapy efficiency.
\n

\n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n

Specific experience and certifications related to respiratory therapy are required, including BLS and ACLS certifications.
