Job Description

The Staff Physician Fellow participates in an organized post-residency medical training program in which they have daily contact with patients and assume responsibility for their care, under the supervision of an accountable physician faculty member. All work performed by the Staff Physician Fellow must be relevant to their applicable academic field of study, and their term of employment shall not exceed the length of time necessary to complete the goals and objective of the training program, which shall not exceed three years of service. Core job functions include participating in educational and scholarly activities, performing consultation, evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients, providing safe and compassionate patient care under supervision, analyzing own practice for improvement, using evidence from scientific studies and clinical guidelines, providing the highest standard of patient care and completing medical record documentation timely, contributing to a professional working environment, and adhering to University policies and visa conditions if applicable. Core qualifications include an M.D., D.O., or comparable degree, certification in relevant specialty, completion of residency or prior qualifying training, effective communication skills, discretion with confidential information, commitment to University values, and ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
