Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with charge and specialized ICU experience for a night shift contract requiring a current CA license and critical certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in the ICU of an acute care hospital
• Care for a diverse critical care patient population with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• May be required to float to tele units and between nearby affiliated hospitals
• Uses Meditech for charting
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• Scrub color of choice is allowed
• Must be willing to float between all facilities within the state as required
• May be required to float between Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro and Torrance locations
• Must commit to working at least 3 out of the 5 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day)
• Pre-employment modules must be completed prior to start
• Free parking is available on site
• Returning employees may apply as travelers after a waiting period of 3 months

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active CA RN license must be in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience is required
• Experience beyond MICU required, with preference for Surgical, Trauma, Shock, or Neuro ICU
• Certifications required: ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS
• Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of ICU employment in the last 3 years are required
• Cannot have permanent residence within 50 miles of the facility to qualify for travel rate
• First-time travelers are accepted
