Tasting Room Food Prep/Runner - Part Time Wilson Creek Winery is a family-owned winery in the heart of Temecula Valley Southern California Wine Country known for its quality wines and warm hospitality. Wilson Creek Winery & Vineyards is currently looking for a part-time Tasting Room Food Prep/Runner in Temecula, CA. Position Summary: Under general supervision, the Tasting Room Food Prep/Runner is responsible for preparing the food in the Upper Room of the Tasting Room for our Wine Club Members and Library Guests. This is a part-time, on-site role in Temecula, California. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities: Understand and comply with all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs. Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times by providing excellent guest service. Prepares a variety of meats, cheeses, vegetables, and other food items for limited Tasting Room Menu. Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes. Responsible for tables service, clearing of tables and washing of dishes. Responsible for opening and closing duties in the kitchen of the Tasting Room. Making sure work surfaces, floors and walls are always clean and sanitized. Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly. Assists the Tasting Room Manager with the weekly purchase orders of food items. Keeping the storage areas stocked and organized. Perform other duties as requested. What It Takes To Succeed: Be 21 years of age. Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the area. Must have excellent guest service skills with professional appearance and outstanding communication skills. Must have ability to develop customer relationships. Must obtain a Riverside County Food Handler's Certificate within one week of hire. Prior food service industry experience preferred. Must obtain LEADS Certificate within 60 days of hire. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and will be required to regularly bend, stoop and squat. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in typical conditions of a bar with equipment such as glasses, wine openers, bottles, and sinks. Prep stations to include working with knives and other possibly dangerous kitchen utensils. The environment may at times consist of high-volume Noise level and large groups of people which results in a fast paced, crowded work area. Employees may encounter wet floors, broken glass, intoxicated guests and extreme temperatures.
